As you may already know, the ability to create a zip file without using third party tools appeared in Windows a long time ago. The first Windows version which had native ZIP archive support was Windows Me. All modern Windows versions support this archive format. To put a file or folder inside a zip archive in Windows 10, all you need to do is right click it and select Send to - Compressed (zipped) folder from the context menu. However, there are command line tools to compress your files to a zip archive. To get this functionality, you could use a third party solution.
If you are using PowerShell scripts to automate your tasks, you will be happy to know that PowerShell allows creating ZIP archives. Here is how it can be done.

Have you ever received or downloaded a RAR or 7Z file only to found that you can’t open the file without installing third-party file archiving software? As you likely know by now, Windows operating system doesn’t support .RAR and .7Z files out of the box and one needs to install third-party software such as WinRAR, WinZip or 7-Zip in order to extract or unzip RAR and 7Z files.
Though we can always install the free 7-Zip utility to quickly extract RAR or 7Z files, wouldn’t it be cool if it was possible to extract RAR and 7Z files without downloading any additional software on to your PC?
Well, if you love the idea of extracting 7Z and RAR files online, you can use one of the three free online services to quickly extract your RAR and 7Z files online.
Three free services to open RAR & 7Z files online
WobZip
WobZip is a free service to unzip compressed files online. In addition to RAR files, it supports uncompressing many popular archive formats including 7z, Gzip, UDF, VHD, CAB, and CHM. You can either upload the file from your computer or simply enter the URL of the supported file to begin the extraction process.
WobZip also lets you extract password protected archives. All you need to do is enter the password for the compressed file after uploading the archive. The maximum upload limit is 200 MB per file. Despite 200 MB limitation, WobZip is the probably the best online tool out there to extract your compressed files.
B1 Free Archiver
B1 Free Archiver is another versatile online service to extract files from .rar, .zip and 7z files. This free service is supports nearly 50 file formats. We are not very sure about the size limit for files but turns out that it supports files larger than 200 MB.
The downside is there is no option to extract files located in the cloud, meaning that you need to download the file first to your PC and then upload the same to B1 File Archiver.
Unzip-Online
